Maroondah City Council: (Municipal engagement)

Centre for Urban Transitions, Swinburne University has been working with the Maroondah City Council, Victoria since 2015 in applying the greyfield renewal concept in practice. During this period several community engagement workshops have been conducted, building design guides for housing prepared, feasibility analysis undertaken and playbooks for local government, landowners and developers prepared. Project Details

  • Working with all levels of government to achieve support for the project
  • Collaborating with community groups to create the precinct designs and community co-benefit of the precincts
  • Developing design guides, housing typologies and streetscapes for precinct assessment and financial feasibility
  • Drafting statutory regulation to promote the process of precinct creation.
